Mani Rimdu Festival Trek

Mani Rimdu festival is one of the most interesting,colorful High Himalayan Buddhist festivals observed every year,it is celebrating in Tengboche monastery located in Everest region of Nepal. This festival is not only popular for Nepalese people, also famous for tourist. The festival is celebrated for the occasion of great victory of Buddhism over ancient bon religion every year in the month of November. Tengboche Mani Rimdu starts on the full moon of October, and the Chiwong Mani Rimdu on the full moon of November . In the festival, monks perform series of dance, wearing attractive yellow - red cloths and using masks.

The Mani Rimdu Festival trek is suitable for those trekkers who are interested to combine their trek with glimpse of Nepalese cultural festival.

Mani Rimdu is divided into six Preparations:
1. Construction of the sand mandala
2. The Empowerment (Wong)
3. The Dances (Chham)
4. Ser-Kyem
5. The Fire Puja (Jinsak)
6. Chhingpa

Mani Rimdu Festival (Famous Mask Dances performance by Monks), excellent Himalayan scenery, various ancient monasteries, traditional Sherpa culture and way of life.

Day 03: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m)-40mint. & trek to Phakding (2610m) - 3 hrs.and overnight at Lodge
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m) - 7 hrs. and overnight at Lodge
Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar(3440m) -excursion to khumjung village,Everest Hotel & Back to Lodge - 4 hrs.and overnight at Lodge
Day 06: Namche Bazzar to Thyanbouch(3867m.) -5 hrs.and overnight at Lodge
Day 07: Mani Rimdu festival at Tengboche Monastery-WANG (blessing ceremony)
Day 08: Second day at the festival, Witness the CHAM (mask dance)
Day 09: Third day at the festival, Witness the JINSAK (closing ceremony)
Day 10: Tengboche to Namche 3440m -5 hrs. and overnight at lodge
Day 11: Namche to Lukla 2840m -7 hrs. and overnight at lodge
Day 12: Lukla to Kathmandu by flight and overnight at Hotel
Day 13: Leisure at Kathmandu - relax at Hotel or explore the for shopping
Day 14: Trip Ends/ Transfer to airport for departure
