Numbur Cheese Circuit Trek is a off-the-beaten track which offers magnificent mt views of Langtang, Jugal Himal, Gaurishankar,Bigphera Go Nup (Pathibarra) , Numbur chuli and Everest Range. Walking through the deep river gorges, glacial lakes, terraced rice fields, subtropical forests and Sherpa villages, this trek is really an enlightening one. In order to honor the name of the Mt. Numbur Chuli (6959m) this trek route is called Numbur Himal Cheese Circuit Trekking which is suitable for the people who are seeking virgin trekking areas in Nepal. One of Nepal's first cheese factories established in 1957 along with many others en route are the sights which give the trekkers an idea of the local cottage industry. During fall one can admire with the rhododendrons blossom in profusion. Eagles, musk deer as well as Himalayan Tahr, a species of goat antelope, are common sights where as catching a glimpse of the elusive snow leopard is also not impossible for the lucky one! During the wet season the mountain meadows are very green and lush with flowers and grasses. Shivalaya, the old trade route from Jiri, is the gateway for the Numbur Cheese Circuit. Panchpokhari pass (4605m) and Gyajo La (Thulo Lapcha) pass at 4880m are the most adventurous passes of this trek whereas valleys of Khimti and Likhu are the best example of biodiversity showing the different vegetation ranging from temperate to alpine. The famous Thodung Monastery is the landmark of this trekking !!!

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1300 meters) .
A representative from Alpine Nepal Trek & Expedition Pvt Ltd. display board will greet you outside the arrival terminal and transfer you to your Hotel and Overnight at Hotel

Day 02 : Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
Today after breakfast, we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddha Nath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader.

Day 03: Kathmandu to shivalaya (1790m)- 9 hrs.
Drive to jiri/shivalaya (187 km from kathmandu) through the mountain terrain following the traditional approach march for Everest. Enjoy fresh water fish and refreshments at shivalaya. Arrange porter, local guides and other logistics at shivalya over night at tea house.

Day 04: Shivalaya to Khahare (2175m) - 4 hrs.
Enjoy soft trekking along the khimti River and enjoy lunch at Garjyang. Enjoying Sherpa culture and home-stay accommodation at Khahare, Don't forget to taste of NCC fresh Yak cheese over night at Camp.

Day 05: Khahare to Panipakha (3105m) - 4 hrs.
Be prepared for adventurous trekking and eco-camping. Enjoy wilderness trekking along the Khimti river and up to the panipakha where you will find your first eco-camping site amidst the scattered chauri sheds and the towering alpines. Enjoy rare sunset views from panipakha over night at Camp.

Day 06: Panipakha to Maanedanda (3940m) - 4 hrs.
Continuing to snake you way up, the trail as it ascends through the conifer and rhododendron forest before reaching Maanedanda offering spectacular views of thick green forest with numerous steep waterfalls over night at Camp.

Day 07: Maanedanda to Jatapokhari/Panchpokhari (4515m) - 5 hrs. The trail traverses alongside the mountain before a dramatic waterfall heralds your arrival at Jatapokhari(4206m), a holy mountain lake in the lap of mt. Number. Over 3000 pilgrims, both Buddhist and Hindy followers, make their way here to celebrate Janiapurnima in August. Just short climb above Jatapokhari are the five sacred lakes known as Panch pokhari (4508m) within a huge glacial, moonlike cirque. Sidewalks aound panchpokhari and panch pokhari pass offers spectacular panoramic views of the Rolwaling, Number and Everest Ranges over night at Camp.

Day 08: Panchpokhari to Tare (4140m) - 5 hrs.
The trail takes you to khala kharka and further downhill to Nupche river via thick bamboo forest. Enjoy fresh cheese making in green pasture alongside the Nupche River before you reach to your eco-camping site at Tare.

Day 09 :Rest day-
A side trip to bigphera Go Nup base camp/glacier, khola Cire (4469m), Linkhu Nup Glacier and impressive Lhasa Lake (4469m) is recommended over night at Camp.

Day 10 to 11 : Tare - Gyazo La pass pass (4600m)-Ngeju (2665m) - 5 hrs.
The most strenuous section of NCC, the trail from Tare to the Likhu Khola valley is one that is both challenging and rewarding. The mountain views extending north into Tibet as you cross the Gyajo La(Thulo Lapcha) at 4880m(traditionally used by local sherpas to bring yaks across the mountains to Rakhidanda and Ngeju) are sencational. "Wilderness" is the only apt term for the wild and rugged basin of the Lhiku River valley, Dudhpokhari Lake, Likhu glacier at the base of towering tumbling glaciers and large moraines. The trek down from the Likhu glacier takes you to Ngeju(3690m) nestled against the river. A short side trip up from Ngeju is the ancient Buddhist shrine of Kau Gumba over night at Camp.

Day 12 : Ngeju and Lahaksewar (2665m) - 5 hrs.
From Ngeju the trail weaves through thick ancient forests alongside the Likhu Khola re-emerging to Lhachhewar(2665m), one of the most beautiful Sherpa villages with its astonishing landscapes, cultural wealth, prominent monastery and the hospitable Sherpa people. In Lhachhewar and onwards, the camping facilities can also be combined with the home-stay accommodation maintained at traditional Sherpa houses over night at Camp.

Day 13 : Lahaksewar to Kyama (3190m) - 4 hrs.
The trail goes through the river valley, passing one of the still hidden Hindu pilgrimage site, 'UMATIRTHA TEMPLE' regarded as the KASHI of Himalayas at the confluence of Likhu and Nupche River;descending through deep forest to Kyama(2380m) with good views along the way of Bigphera Go Nup(Pathibara) and Numberchuli. Enjoy Monastery, Sherpa lifestyle at the serene village environment over night at Camp.

Day 14 : Kyama to Gumdel (2255m) -2 hrs.
With the gleaming Numberchuili as the backdrop, Gumdel is a tiny hamlet gathered around a large Buddhist Stupa. The Gumdel home-stay offers the best of Sherpa hospitality and cultural traditions amidst luxuriant landscape and spectacular mountain scenery over night at Camp.

Day 15 : Gumdel to Serding (3360m), or Bhandar (4-5 hrs).
From Gumdel the trail either descends through the mountain terrace along the Likhu River finally meeting the Everest trail at Bhandar or ascends through the dense forest finally reaching the beautiful serding (3360m). Enjoy folded temperate and subalpine forest at the backdrop of Numberchuli, Bigphera Go and Gaurishankar Himal range from serding and punnasa Danda. Enjoy fresh yak cheese and cheese making process over night at Camp.

Day 16 : Serding/Bhandar-Thodung-Lapchane (3150m) - (4-5 hrs).
Descend gently to observe one of Nepal's first Yak Cheese factories, established in 1957 on the way to Thodung. Visit Thodung monastery and get warm blessing from Lamas. Get your lunch with lamas at Thodung or stroll back down to Deurali on the way to Everest trek; with good views of Gaurishankar before trekking to your penultimate NCC home stay village at Newari houses, Lapchane. Tamdanda, thirty minutes above the Newari village of Lapchane, is one of the tallest hills in Ramechhap. From tame you can see most of the central and eastern Himalayan peaks Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Gaurishankar, Number, Makalu, Kanchenjunga over nighta at Camp.

Day 17 : Lapchane to Those (1755m) - 3 hrs.
Enjoy sunrise view of mountains from Tame and gradually descend down to your last stay at those over night at Camp.

Day 18 : Those to Kathmandu (8-9 hrs by bus).
Drive back to Kathmandu via Jiri and transfer to Hotel over night at Kathmandu On Hotel.

Day 19: Free day at Kathmandu .
A leisure day in Kathmandu which can used for an early morning mountain flights to Everest or can extended into further more tours to Chitwan, Lumbini etc. (This is also spare day in case of cancellation of flights) and Overnight at Hotel.

Day 20: Departure.
A representative from Alpine Nepal Trek will check your flight tickets and transfer you to the airport before two hours from your flight with a hope of seeing you again in the future.
